Why therapy?
Hi, my name is Maysa Akbari. I am a registered psychotherapist (Qualifying). I have been practicing since 2018.
When change is afoot, therapy can assist in finding new ground to stand upon. Our time together will be spent working to expand your sense of self, the world, and possibilities in both. By bringing more awareness to body, emotion, mind, and spirit as navigational systems that help you move through life, you'll feel more equipped to handle what comes your way.
I know what it’s like to try to hold everything together alone. It’s lonely and overwhelming. Together we can build a space where we can hold anything you bring in. There is no issue or feeling too big, too much, or too messy that we can’t hold together. You don't have to know how to start right now—let's figure it out together.
My approach is humanistic and existential, grounded in gestalt, and draws upon the best advances in the entire field of psychotherapy. It is effective for depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, burnout, grief and relationships. I get to be a traveler into people’s rich and unique inner-worlds and help them make-sense of their personal story.
